The placenta is a very important organ that guarantees the survival and good health of the baby during pregnancy. When she gives birth after the baby is born, her appearance is similar to that of the liver. The main function of the placenta is to provide the child with sufficient nutrition.
The placenta is also used in the transmission of fluids from the mother to the child. For example, the mother’s blood passes through the placenta and then passes through the umbilical cord before reaching the child. The blood is rich in oxygen, glucose and other nutrients. The placenta plays the same role as the kidney when it comes to filtering out harmful substances that may be contained in the mother’s blood before it enters the baby and allowing the maid to reach the baby through the umbilical cord.
The placenta allows the transfer of oxygen from the mother to the fetus. For example, when the blood used by the child is depleted, the blood returns to the placenta to remove carbon dioxide and oxygen. The placenta is also responsible for releasing the children’s waste in the mother’s bloodstream, which is extracted from the mother’s body through urine. It protects the child from various infections by making sure that the blood of the mother and fetus is not in contact as an effective filter.
The placenta also secretes several hormones. Placental lactogen is a hormone secreted by the placenta in a very large volume. This hormone is responsible for ensuring that the mother has more glucose in the blood that also penetrates her baby. The placenta is also responsible for the secretion of estrogen and progesterone hormones. The main function of these hormones is to prevent any contraction of the uterus before the baby is born and to make sure that the tissues of the uterus and the mother are well prepared for the job.
